Hello, my fellow otaku. My name's LOZFFVII, as described in my signature, that is not a reference to a character in the FFVII movie. However, you can shorten it to 'LOZ' if you wish.
I am a big fan of anime/manga, and I particularly enjoy playing anime-related/styled games. My current favourite Anime/Manga are: Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku) [Manga] Higurashi/Umineko no Naku Koro ni (When They Cry: Higurashi/Umineko) (Ryukishi07-sama rules!!!) [Manga/Anime] Bleach [Dubbed Anime] Naruto [Dubbed Anime] FullMetal Alchemist [Dubbed Anime]
Something you guys may find surprising (and no doubt I'll probably get asked 'why' a lot later): I don't rate Death Note or Code Geass very highly. If I were to give a brief explanation, it would be: I lost interest in the Death Note anime when a certain event occurred. As soon as I read the first Code Geass manga, I thought to myself "This is a lot like Death Note". Hence, I'm not that hyped about either one (Code Geass less so than Death Note).
Recently, I have been mostly playing: Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? for PSP (It's a spin-off of the Disgaea series, if you've heard of it) DISSIDIA: Final Fantasy for PSP (Really awesome game).
That's about all I can think of right now, so if anyone wants to ask anything just go ahead and shoot!

Hi welcome to the forum! I'm Kii, your president. I don't rate the Code Geass Manga since it was more an Animanga, being written after the anime had aired but I did enjoy the series.
Can I also ask that you remove the Death Note spoilers from your post, not everyone in the society has seen the series nor read the manga so it's not very fair to let them know something that important. ^^
Thanks and I hope you enjoy your time with us!

Im sorry man i hate to criticize but Dubbed call it a pet hate but they tone down the language and gore annd make it into almost a kids programme gives a bad name to anime i personally started out watching dubbed but very soon found subbed and have never returned to dubbed. PS Bleach and Naruto are vvvv goood

I find it very much depends on the company that dubbed the anime. I agree that a lot of the early anime and a fair chunk of the 'popular' stuff was dubbed to hit a wider, more impressionable market. Thus a lot was lost. However, they're getting better. Some, and I stress some, companies are working much harder not to lose anything from the original, Hellsing certainly didn't skimp on the blood and gore in the dubbed version.
Dub Vs Sub can most certainly be a conversation topic, but maybe not in people's introduction threads ^_^

Personally I find that the dub can vary from anime to anime; there are some with godaweful dubs (DearS) and then there are some with excellent dubs (Bleach).
I also find that dub quality can vary with characters alone: Laharl's laugh is sooo much better in the dub of Disgaea than in Japanese, but Flonne's voice just gets on my nerves. There were some characters in the dub of Higurashi that had decent voice talents (Keiichi Maebara, Kuraudo Oishi), while others were pretty poor (Rena Ryuuguu/Ryugu).
