Please be aware that this forum, moderators and related authoritative parties (such as the UWE animesoc committee) accepts no responsibility for problem transactions and cannot insure against loss or damage. All trading, buying and selling is conducted at your own risk.
You are asked to buy and sell with care to avoid scams and theft, and to aid with this, this forum provides a feedback board for people to alert others to problem traders and to solve problem transactions. Repeated or significant problems with a member may result in them being banned from the marketplace or even the forum all together.
There are many resources available to advice safer buying and selling online. If you are unsure about someone, do not buy from them.
Rules for selling in the marketplace
1. FOLLOW THE RULES. We are offering this service because we know, as anime fans ourselves, that both finding money and affording anime things are difficult things, and we don't always want to pay the fees on amazon and ebay.
Please do not abuse it.
2. Please be honest. Tell the truth about the content and quality of your items, and tell all. In Japanese? Say so. Some damage? Tell us. People like to know what they're buying. Pictures are even better.
3. Only offer something if you are 100% certain you want to sell it.
4. Keep your prices reasonable - this is a marketplace run by fans, for fans, to earn you a little extra cash and to give other people a place to pick up anime for cheaper. I'm not saying you should let yourself get ripped off, but don't get extortionate.
If your items are worth a lot of money, think carefully before you try selling them here. (If you're worried about this rule, feel free to ask about it)
5. Links to external sales are allowed, if you're selling things on ebay, amazon, etsy, etc, that you'd like us to know about, you may post about them.
6. If you are solely selling an item on-board (i.e no ebay etc), conduct all business on-board (or over PM if you wish for privacy), so there is a record of it, particularly if anything goes wrong with the transaction.
Rules for buying in the marketplace
1. Please only make serious offers on items you wish to buy, as withdrawing your offer after making it may result in a bad buyer reputation.
2. Do not offer significantly lower than the asking price, or pester a seller to accept said offer. A seller is offering their goods for the price they set, and if they don't want to sell to you for the price they're offering, that's their choice.
