We only have a few but please take the time to read them!
1. Please be polite! Remember what your mum always told you 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'.
If you have any problems with the behaviour of the forum members, report it to moderators without getting involved.
2. Stay On Topic. We don't mind having a laugh and getting a bit carried away with chat, but try and keep on topic as much as possible, and make sure you post things in the right place!
3. No Spam. This is a little linked to 'stay on topic', but spam means a lot of things. Those things are not ok.
4. Please be aware that while we are a university forum, we are also a public forum, so watch your language - we don't mind swearing, but not excessively.
If any posts are going to contain considerable adult content, post a warning so people can avoid it.
5. Spoilers. Yes, we all know that they can be said/posted accidentally, but please be careful to tag posts that may contain spoilers, so, again, people can avoid if they want to.
6. Chat speak. Don't do it, just DON'T. We're all adults, we can damn well use proper English - you do not have a limited amount of space on a forum, nor a limited amount of time, so there's no need to use text/chat speak.
This means: shortening words, using single letters for words (like 'u' or 'b'), using numbers for words (like '2' and '4'), or overly using leetspeak or acronyms - NO.
The odd acronym - omg, wtf, lol, etc - nothing wrong with that. Leetspeak/macrospeak/etc are acceptable if used sparingly and in context/as an expression of your feelings (ask me if that's unclear).
Just... we don't want our posts to resemble an algabraeic equation, kthx. (that right there? An example of acceptable usage XD)
Signature and Image rules
Signature images should not exceed 500x200 pixels, and please keep a cap on excessive text.
Mods will warn you if your sig is too long.
Images posted shouldn't be more than around 620x480 at an absolute maximum, though smaller would be preferable. Basically, if it's a stretch to fit it on the screen, it's too big.
If a post contains a lot of images, please warn people in the title that it's image heavy.
----
If you break these rules, you will first recieve a warning from a moderator, and if you continue to break rules you may face penalties up to and including account deletion and potential banning.
----
If you have any questions about whether something is allowed or not, please ask them here.
