I'd forgotten how dangerous Forbidden Planet was.
I've found a Limited Edition copy of Aces and Eights which is a Wild West RPG. I also have a so far unplayed copy of Legend of Five Rings which is a game set in as fantasy version of feudal Japan (Samuri, Ninjas and Kung Fu Monks)
So Pirates or Ninjas

For l33t skills and badass weapons, The ninja's definately have my vote. But for the ability to comandeer a vessel while intoxicated on rum? Pirates

Gots to be ninja's. Pirates may be getting the exposure with the carribiean movies but you just know those ninja's are waiting in the shadows, paitent and silent.

Depends...
If we're listening to the Dr. McNinja comic...
"It was a Ninja! He'd been watching the battle, and was most impressed with with how the village dispatched the Pirates, who were the Ninja's ancient enemy."
Now, if villagers can fend off pirates (armed with just frozen clovers) then ninja can win pirates easily too.
